8th cultural day programme on December 19.
- DIMAPUR — Unity
College, Dimapur, observed its 8th cultural day programme on December 19 on the
theme ‘Roots and resilience.'
- Dr. Lichumo Enie, principal of the college, in his welcome
speech, emphasised on the importance of preserving and appreciating one’s
unique cultural roots as well as respecting the diversity of culture of others.
- An update from the college stated that the vibrant and
colourful programme showcased the rich cultures and traditions of the nation
through performances comprising Lotha folk song (Sükying Potsow), The Khujao
(The three stars), Tangkhul folk tale, Angami folk dance (Pheta), Log drum
presentation (Tongden), Zeliangrong folk drama (The story of Nsing), Assamese
folk dance (Seksiki Porua), Bihu special, Ni a chokatso, the Northeast harmony
and Manipuri folk dance.
- The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the
cultural secretary of UCSC followed by Heritage Club exhibition.
