- DIMAPUR — The
United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) held its change of guard ceremony on
Tuesday at Tutheze village in Kiphire, where the mantle of leadership was
formally handed over to the newly elected executive team.
- According to an update, Adekhing I Sangtam assumed office as
the new president, succeeding Sethrongba Sangtam. The event was attended by
dignitaries, elders, student leaders, and well-wishers from across the region.
- In his farewell address, Sethrongba expressed gratitude to
the executive team, members, and supporters for their unwavering support
throughout his term. He highlighted the significant achievements of the USSC
under his leadership, emphasising the organisation’s efforts in promoting
education, preserving culture, and fostering unity among the Sangtam community.
- Adekhing, in his acceptance speech, acknowledged the
contributions of his predecessor and pledged to work with renewed vigour to
further the objectives of the USSC. He emphasised the importance of empowering
the youth, strengthening educational initiatives, and preserving the rich
heritage of the Sangtam community.
