Union Minister visits women’s ITI at Dimapur

Union Minister of State (in-charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Wednesday met with women who are undergoing skill development courses at the Women Industrial Training Institute in Dimapur. He is stated to be the first union minister to visit the women ITI in the city, updates on Wednesday informed. Meeting the enthusiastic and energetic students, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said “It is true when we say that when we educate or train a man, we train an individual; but if you education and train a woman, you train a nation.” Women in India have made their own stature across industries and civil societies, he said. “I am elated to see such immensely talented and passionate women in Nagaland supporting the dream of our new India.” “Today, we have girls in skill development courses across the country getting trained on hard skills like welding, automobile, security services etc and representing the country at international platforms likes World Skill. In 2015-16 sessions we trained almost 1.35 lakh women candidates from our ITI ecosystem alone.” Rudy also said that his Ministry is working closely with the industry to create linkages for jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth of Nagaland and the State will soon see dreams of many, come true. Rudy visited also the newly set-up Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra in Dimapur to see its performance and response that it has received from the local people. Till date, 162 PMKKs have been established across the country and 322 more are underway to be set up, the updates stated.
