Union Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma reviewed Central Sector Schemes in Noney district and inspected major infrastructure projects.

IMPHAL — Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma on Friday reviewed the implementation of Central Sector Schemes in Manipur’s Noney district during an official visit that included inspections of major infrastructure projects and interaction with district officials.
Chairing a review meeting at the Noney Deputy Commissioner’s office, the Minister met District Level Officers (DLOs) from all line departments, including officials from the Railways and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). The meeting focused on the implementation status of Central schemes in the district and other issues concerning development.

District officials presented departmental achievements through power point presentations and raised grievances, seeking support from the Centre. They highlighted areas requiring improvement and factors hindering development in the district.
Earlier in the day, the Minister was received at Longmai Common Ground by Deputy Commissioner Vidyamari Sridhar, Superintendent of Police Namsadai Peter and other district administration officials.
During the visit, Varma inspected the Longmai Primary Health Centre, where he distributed Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) cards to four beneficiaries. He also handed over keys to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in the Rangkhung region.
The Minister visited Bridge No. 164, described as the world’s tallest railway pier bridge, located in Noney district. He also reviewed progress of the NHIDCL project on NH-37 and the works at Awangkhul Railway Station.
As part of the visit, he planted trees at the Noney DC office complex and visited departmental stalls set up by the Forest, Agriculture, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, and Horticulture departments, among others.
