IMPHAL, NOVEMBER 11: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday inaugurated a day-long workshop on dissemination of information about the programme and schemes run by the ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India at the City Convention Centre, Palace Gate in Imphal in Manipur state.
The state’s Health and Family Welfare Minister DK Korungthang, and the joint secretary of the Ministry Sudhir Kumar were also present as members of the presidium at the day’s function.
Union Minister Nadda addressed the occasion. He said that the centre was supporting Manipur with Rs 274 crore especially in the health sector during the past three years. The state is being provided infrastructure, human resources, and equipments, among others, he said. The government is willing to support more in the coming days too, the minister assured.
“Money is not an issue but the question is how the delivery system is going on. India Government has special place for hilly regions including Manipur,” Nadda said.
Translation works for most of the programmes, schemes, policies are being undertaken by elected representatives.
The minister also announced a 20-bed neo-natal intensive care unit at JNIMS, a tertiary cancer unit. He has assured for more beds for the medical institute.
The workshop was divided into different sessions.
