Dimapur, July 2 (EMN): A union called the ‘Naga Tribal Union Chumoukedima Town’ (NTUCT) has informed about what it stated were a number of resolutions to combat illegal immigrants, and liquor syndicates. The union warned that it will expose liquor syndicates who may be working with the police or underground elements.
The resolutions were taken in a meeting of the union that was conducted on June 28 in the CTC hall. The union issued a press release informing about the resolutions.
The union stated that it has “strongly re-affirmed to implement the 10-points resolutions of 2017 at a public rally against the rampant influx of illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants and their misdeeds against the Nagas.” The union assured that it will implement said decision ‘in letter and spirit.’
Further, the union said to have resolved to request the Nagaland government to start functioning from its new district headquarters complex with proper infrastructure development in and around Chumoukedima town for the “sake of smooth and effective functioning.”
Another resolution was that the union was approving “the ongoing prohibition of illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor and banned substances by the NTUCT.” The union assured to ‘maintain consistency in its fight against the social evils and menaces with more concerted efforts and vigours,’ the press release explained.
Here, the union “reserved the right” to “stop and frisk any suspected vehicles ferrying unaccounted amount of banned liquor and substances within the perimeter of its jurisdiction.”
The union declared in its statement that the “so called syndicate operatives” are being ‘warned in advance to stop their nefarious trade.’
“It was the unanimous voice of the NTUCT members that any national workers no matter how big and powerful, and state police officials running such a racket in connivance with bottlegers (sic) shall be publicly exposed,” the press release stated.
