Kohima Police recover unidentified human remains from Dzu River near Chedema; appeal to public for help in identifying female victim, aged 25–30.

DIMAPUR — Kohima Police have recovered human skeletal remains from Dzu River downstream at Zero Point near Chedema on July 5 at around 5 pm.
A press release on Sunday informed that the recovery operation was carried out in accordance with standard procedures. Subsequent inquest and post-mortem examination determined that the remains belonged to a female, estimated to be between 25 to 30 years of age.
All necessary legal formalities have been completed, it stated.
The remains have been placed in safe custody at the morgue facility of North Police Station, Kohima, pending identification.
In light of the discovery, Kohima Police issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying the deceased. Families or individuals who have reported missing persons—particularly in the vicinity of Chedema or the Dzu River—have been urged to come forward.
Authorities have requested that anyone with relevant information regarding a missing person, including details such as the time of disappearance, physical description, or last known whereabouts, contact North Police Station at 7005986018.
