  • DIMAPUR — The body of an unidentified non-local man was found by the roadside near the Shokhuvi village gate on Thursday, in what police suspect to be a case of murder.

  • An officer from Sovima Police Station in Chümoukedima district said that they received information about the body early in the morning and arrived at the scene around 6.30 am. The body was discovered lying naked by the roadside.

  • According to the officer, the body bore visible bruises on the back and thighs, indicating signs of third-degree torture. However, the post-mortem examination did not reveal any internal injuries.

  • The deceased is believed to be aged between 25 and 30 years. As of now, his identity remains unknown, and no family members or relatives have come forward to claim the body.

  • Police investigations are ongoing.
