Dimapur, August 2 (EMN): With the announcement of an approximate whooping Rs 2000 crore relief for the flood affected victims of the northeast including Nagaland, United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) urged the State government to judiciously use the fund solely for developmental works.
It may be mentioned here that the Union Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, during his visit to the flood affected areas of Assam on August 1, had announced relief about Rs 2000 crore for the northeast region.
A UNDP press release issued by its president, N Hotongse Sangtam, expressed concern that roads in Nagaland presently are in horrible conditions while bridges especially in Dimapur have collapsed or are on the verge of collapsing and the people are facing immense hardship as their houses were damaged on account of floods and landslides.
