Dimapur, July 22 (EMN): Alleging total breakdown of government machinery, United Nagaland Democratic Party (UNDP) has demanded President’s Rule in Nagaland.
Distressed at the present political situation under the DAN government, UNDP president, N Hotongse Sangtam, accused the former of neglecting and denying basic needs of the people during its 14 years in power. He alleged that the disease of corruption has contaminated to its core foundation.
He has likened Nagaland to a State without a government as all development activities have come to a standstill and the road have deteriorated causing immense hardship to the citizens.
An exasperated Hotongse Sangtam said the financial grant from the central government in terms of thousands of crores was not to felicitate the pockets of the politicians and bureaucrats but for the needs and welfare of the people.
Meanwhile, he has urged the electorates to renounce the habit of selling their votes in the coming State elections but to elect the right leaders who can work for the all round development.
