Unclaimed assets camp held in Peren under ‘Your Money, Your Right’

DIMAPUR — An awareness-cum-settlement camp on unclaimed assets under the nationwide campaign “Your Money, Your Right” was held at the DC Office, Peren, on Saturday. The camp was chaired by SDO (C) Sentilong Ozukum.

Assistant General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Mangta Shoute highlighted the importance of the campaign and shared awareness on digital frauds, warning signals, and prevention tips, according to a press statement issued by PIB.

The lead district manager on the occasion elaborated on the settlement process and introduced the online UDGAM portal of the RBI for enquiries on unclaimed accounts.

Lists of unclaimed deposit accounts were shared with all the representatives, both in hard and soft copies, for dissemination within their respective jurisdictions. Depositor Education and Awareness Fund claim forms along with Know Your Customer (KYC) forms were distributed to all participants. A total of four accounts amounting to INR 80,113 were settled at the camp.

The meeting was attended by head gaonburas, village development board secretaries, village heads and chairmen, the branch manager of SBI Peren, and an associate from the SBI Jalukie branch.

An interactive session was also held to clear doubts and queries of the attendees.

Under the ongoing campaign (October–December), a total of 39 accounts amounting to INR 31.55 lakh have been identified and settled for the Peren district.
