Dmapur, September 21: The Amur Falcon Roosting Area Union Pangti at its general meeting held on September 18 in Pangti village thoroughly deliberated on the ongoing project on Amur Falcons in Wokha district under Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2015-16 and unanimously resolved to serve an ultimatum to the Chief Minister through an open letter on the issue for his timely intervention.
AFRAU Pangti Zanthungo Shitiri and secretary Nribemo Merry, in a release today, said the union submitted a representation to Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism on July 28, 2016 and a reminder letter to the Chief Minister on August 30, 2016 followed by an open letter on September 7, 2016 which was published in a local daily under the caption “No funds for Amur Falcon’s Roosting, Claim AFRAU”. However, the release said, inspite of repeated pleas the government failed to give any positive response till date prompting the union/landowners to serve the ultimatum to fulfill the demand on or before September 30, 2016.
The union also warned that they will give up their selfless service, which they have been doing for the past three years, in protecting the Amur Falcons (the pride of Nagaland) if the government fails to give positive reply within the stipulated time and added that the government will be solely held responsible in case of any unwanted eventuality.
