Ukhrul auditions of Rhythms & Aromas of NE India inaugurated

Six music bands from Manipur and Sikkim participated in the final leg of auditions that were conducted at Ukhrul in Manipur on Fri. Jan. 10. The audition in Ukhrul was inaugurated by NEZCC director Jitul Sonowal

A total of six music bands from Manipur and Sikkim performed during the auditions to compete and get selected and further perform at the 4th Guwahati International Music Festival 2020 in Guwahati.

According to a press release, the bands who competed today are Salt and Light Travelling Band, Echoes of Mercy Band, Oking Band, and the Antic Molecule Band from Manipur, and Granite Yard Band and solo artist Ridgex from Sikkim. Selected artistes will undergo intensive mentorship by industry experts and a chance to perform with leading musicians of Asia.

The first state-level music audition for artists from Assam and Nagaland was inaugurated in Dimapur on December 30 2019. After Nagaland, auditions were held in Aizawl on January 4, and Shillong on January 7 2020.
