Nagaland exceeds Udyam and FSSAI registration targets under the RAMP Scheme, recording significant MSME growth
DIMAPUR — Nagaland has surpassed its targets under the Udyam Registration and FSSAI Registration and Licensing interventions implemented under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, registering 13,676 enterprises under Udyam against a target of 12,800 and recording 3,423 FSSAI registrations and licences against a target of 3,000.
Implemented by the Department of Industries & Commerce in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), the initiatives covered all 17 districts of the state, a DIPR report stated.
The Udyam intervention achieved 106.8 per cent of its target, while the FSSAI intervention recorded 114.1 per cent.
Under the FSSAI intervention, INR 57 lakh was reimbursed to more than 3,051 eligible beneficiaries to ease the financial burden associated with food business registration and licensing.
Of the 3,423 registrations and licences issued, 3,321 were basic registrations and 102 were State licences.

Women accounted for 48 per cent of total Udyam registrations and 73.07 per cent of beneficiaries under the FSSAI intervention, reflecting their significant participation in enterprise formalisation and the food business sector in Nagaland.
The initiatives were implemented through the District Industry Centres, with support from the Department of Health & Family Welfare, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) and the Women Entrepreneurs Network of Nagaland (WENN).
The coordinated efforts helped extend the interventions to enterprises and Food Business Operators (FBOs) across the state.
The RAMP Scheme is a World Bank-supported Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through improved access to finance and markets, institutional strengthening and enterprise development support.
The Udyam and FSSAI interventions form part of these efforts by promoting enterprise formalisation and facilitating compliance with applicable registration and licensing requirements.
The achievement marks a significant step towards expanding the reach of formalisation initiatives and improving regulatory compliance among MSMEs and food businesses in Nagaland.
Continued coordination among implementing departments and partner organisations is expected to further improve access to government support and regulatory services for enterprises across the state.
