Kiyeto Youth Club wins football title as the 13th UAVYO Annual Sports Meet concludes in Chümoukedima.

DIMAPUR — The 13th Urra Area Villages’ Youth Organisation (UAVYO) Annual Sports Meet concluded at the Kiyeto village local ground in Chümoukedima on Saturday, with Kiyeto Youth Club lifting the men’s football title after defeating Diezephe Youth Organisation 2-1.
According to an update, Kiyeto Youth Club staged a comeback in the final after trailing 0-1 at half-time to reclaim the football championship after an eight-year wait.
Diezephe Youth Organisation took the lead through Rukubilhu in the 23rd minute, who dribbled past three defenders before scoring.
Kiyeto Youth Club turned the match around in the second half, with Kitoka Aye scoring the equaliser in the 56th minute following a series of quick passes and a one-two combination that broke through the defence.
The home side took the lead after a corner kick created confusion inside the penalty area. After the goalkeeper failed to hold the ball, the loose ball fell under the legs of Kuhovi Zhimo, who pushed it into the net to make it 2-1. Despite attempts by Diezephe Youth Organisation to find an equaliser in the closing stages, Kiyeto Youth Club held on to secure the championship.
In men’s volleyball, Singrijan KYO defeated Kiyeto Youth Club in a five-set final to claim the championship trophy. In women’s volleyball, Sangtamtila defeated Diezephe Youth Organisation to win the title.
Individual awards were presented to outstanding performers across the three events. Viboto of Kiyeto Youth Club was adjudged the men’s football Player of the Tournament, while Nuhukho of Diezephe Youth Organisation received the Golden Boot for scoring the highest number of goals throughout the tournament. Ekonthung of Diezephe Youth Organisation received the Golden Glove.
Asik of Singrijan KYO was declared the men’s volleyball Player of the Tournament, while Ruth of Sangtamtila village received the women’s volleyball Player of the Tournament award.
The closing ceremony was attended by Kiesalie Thophi, President of the Urra Area Villages’ Union.
Addressing the gathering, Thophi urged the youth to promote and preserve the peace and harmony enjoyed by the Urra Area villages. Underlining the importance of unity, he called upon the youth to maintain and foster the spirit of brotherhood and oneness among the communities.
