first U-23 National Basketball Championship, currently underway in Guwahati,
Assam, on March 18, the Nagaland men's team faced a tough challenge against a
strong Karnataka side, losing with a scoreline of 39-102. Meanwhile, the
women's team was defeated by Maharashtra, with a final score of 12-65.
- According to an update, the Nagaland men's team demonstrated
remarkable teamwork and skill in their second league match on Wednesday,
achieving a decisive victory over the higher-ranked Chhattisgarh team with a
score of 88-60.
- The standout player was team captain Neiisezo Theiinui, who
shone with an impressive contribution of 26 points to the team's win. He was
ably supported by the lanky Benhilo, who contributed 15 points.
- On the women's side, the Nagaland team suffered a defeat
against Meghalaya, ending the match with a score of 14-53. Barbara finished as
the top scorer for Nagaland with 8 points.
- On March 20, the men's team will compete against Arunachal
Pradesh for a chance to qualify for the pre-quarter finals.
