Mokokchung, Dec.16: The Tzudir Yimka MTB (Mountain bike) race 2016 organised by the Trail Hounds Cycling club, Mokokchung was held on December 16 at Nature Park, Ungma, Mokokchung.
The cross country race was held to inaugurate Ungma's Nature Park as a mountain bike park which will help improve the socio- economic conditions of the local community through mountain biking.
The event was sponsored by Asemjungba Semchir of Ungma village, who runs the Nature Park, which will be the first MTB park in Mokokchung. The open cross country race was conducted in the men's as well as women's category.
Wapangsunep Jamir secured the first in the men's category followed by Tzudiyong Jamir in the second and Opanger in the third.In the women's category, Limasenla Jamir was the winner followed by Tutu Jamir in the second and Meresangla Longkumer in the third place.
More than twenty enthusiastic riders from Mokokchung participated in the event and amongst them was also Yinimatong, a twelve year old.
