Dimapur, June 21 (EMN): Tamlu Yongnyah and Namsang Area Public Forum (TYNA), which comprises of 24 villages in Longleng district, has resented the ‘double standard’ game played by the Higher and Technical Education department in inaugurating two foundation stones for one institution in Longleng district. TYNA has condemned the inauguration of foundation stone for a polytechnic institute at Nagah junction Hukphang, while the same foundation stone was erected on September 26, 2017, at Yungho Yongnyah by N Thomas Lotha, the then Parliamentary Secretary of Technical Education. The forum, in a joint statement issued by its president, Bϋphei Phom, and the general secretary, V Longba Phom, accused the minister of Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along, of turning a deaf ear to the appeals made by several organisations to do justice in regard to polytechnic institute in Longleng district. It accused the minister of undermining several representations submitted to him to uphold the resolution No. 3 of Phom People’s Council, which had resulted in misunderstanding among the people. TYNA has termed the act as a ploy to play divisive policy with the people of Phom in particular and ENPO in general. It questioned the minister if that was the kind of change the PDA government has promised to the people. Stating that it never happened in the history of Naga to lay two foundation stones for one institution, TYNA stated that the mistake committed to the people, if not corrected, would go down in the history of Phom people. In this connection, TYNA informed all political leaders, public leaders, intellectuals, village councils, Goan buras, student leaders, officers, village citizen office bearers, employees and all the unions of different places to reach Tamlu town for an emergency meeting on June 24 from 11 am onwards.
