Two train robbers held in Dimapur

EMN DIMAPUR, MAY 13 FOLLOWING complaints of snatching and lifting of bags and belongings of passengers inside trains during journey by unknown miscreants posing as passengers, Dimapur GRPS deployed personnel on surveillance duty in trains and on the railway platform to apprehend the criminals involved. The duty personnel on the night of May 12 apprehended the criminals when they were fleeing after stealing a leather bag belonging to a passenger of Rajdhani Express. The two arrested have been identified as Apovi Zhimomi (20), son of Ikato Zhimomi of K. Lukhai village under Satakha in Zunheboto district and Inoto Yepthomi (23), son of Hukeyi Yeptho of Litami village, also in Zunheboto district. The accused admitted to snatching and lifting bags and belongings of passengers on several occasions. The stolen leather bag containing a laptop and three cheque books have been recovered along with two mobile phones, a vehicle key besides six capsules of spasmo proxyvon from the two. Police have registered a case and are making efforts to recover other stolen items, Additional S P /PRO, Dimapur, said in a release today.
