TWO post graduate teachers (PGT) have been appointed on a temporary basis in Government Higher Secondary School Mon for the benefit of the students.
On verbal orders from the authority concerned, JP Singh, M.Sc (Maths) and Subhash Sah, M.Sc (Physics), who are serving in GHS Naginimora and GMS Tangnyu respectively, have been appointed in GHSS Mon as temporary arrangement, sources said.Earlier, the principal and student representatives of the school submitted a memorandum to the authority concerned for appointment of the required teachers in the school.
Meanwhile, Eastern Nagaland College Students Union president Amos Konyak said they are happy to learn that the temporary adjustment has been made for the benefit of students by appointing two teachers in the school. However, he said demand for appointment of permanent teachers remains.
He also said the students will now attend their classes and requested the authority to appoint all the required teachers at the earliest.
The students of GHSS Mon had launched their first phase of agitation from September 1 in the school premises to protest against non-appointment of PGTs for the school.
The Nagaland Government Higher Secondary School Teachers Association (NGHSSTA) had appealed to the students to call off their agitation their agitation and attend classes at the earliest.
