Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Two scientists from Nagaland namely Dr. Moakala Changkiri and Dr. Aastik Jha from the School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD), Nagaland University in Medziphema, won the prestigious awards for their outstanding contribution in the field of Horticulture (Vegetable Science).
An update from SASRD: NU, stated that Dr. Moakala Changkiri, scientist (assistant agronomist), AICRP (VC), department of Horticulture, SASRD, NU, was awarded “Women Scientist of the Year Award-2020” during the 4th international conference on “Global approaches in natural resource management for climate smart agriculture (GNRSA-2020) during pandemic era of Covid-19” organised by Agricultural Technology Development Society (ATDS), Ghaziabad (UP) held at Meerut from February 26 to the 28th.
She was also conferred the “Young Scientist Award” at the international seminar on “Agricultural sustainability for doubling income in changing climate scenario and market challenges during covid-19,” organised by the University of Allahabad, Prayagraj (UP) on April 10 and 11.
It added that Dr. Aastik Jha, scientist (assistant breeder), AICRP (VC), department of Horticulture, SASRD, NU, was awarded “Fellow Award-2020” during the 4th international conference on “Global approaches in natural resource management for climate smart agriculture (GNRSA-2020) during pandemic era of Covid-19,” organised by the Agricultural Technology Development Society (ATDS), Ghaziabad (UP) held at Meerut from February 26 to the 28th.
He was also awarded “Outstanding Horticulturist Award” during the 4th national conference on “Doubling farmers income for sustainable and harmonious agriculture (DISHA-2021),” organised by Sambodhi Retreat, Dhandbad, held on March 13 and 14.
The two scientists were conferred the prestigious awards for their outstanding contributions in the field of agriculture/horticulture.
Meanwhile, SASRD has wished them more success in their future endeavours.
