Two low intensity earthquakes, measuring 3.7 and 3.8, hit northeast region of the country in the wee hours on Tuesday.
According to the National Seismology Centre, a unit of the Ministry of Earth Science, one earthquake measuring 3.8 on Richter Scale hit the region along Indo-Myanmar border at 1:18 am at the depth of 111 km.
Four hours later at 5:19 am, a second quake of magnitude 3.7, hit Karbi in Assam at the depth of 33 km.
The northeast is an active seismic zone.
Last month, Manipur witnessed a major earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale.
