Wokha, August 28: Two persons were killed and six injured on Monday when a taxi with the driver and carrying seven passengers rolled down a hill near Bhandari town.
The taxi,a Tata Sumo, was travelling from Merapani to Wokha when the mishap occurred just 300 metres from the Bhandari check gate at around 10:30 in the morning.
Bhandari police station informed that the car went around 500 ft below the road killing the two and injuring 6 of which three are in critical condition. The investigation is one and the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. The deceased have been identified as one Kanish Giri and Renjamo Odyuo. The injured were where rushed to CISF hospital at Doyang, from where two were taken to Golaghat and one to Dimapur.
Two passengers and the driver who sustained minor injury where were given first aid at Community Health Centre Bhandari.
