Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): Kohima police, on receiving information about kidnapping for ransom, arrested two persons identified as ‘ss’ Sgt Maj. of NSCN (U) Vilhou Kengurusie (29) and his accomplice Sinilo Bukh (38) on June 14.
According to a report from the additional superintendent of police and PRO, Kohima, the victim, a resident of PWD colony, Kohima, was kidnapped from his house the same day and kept confined in an unknown location after which demand was made to the father for his release. It was reported that the victim’s father negotiated for an amount of INR 40,000, which was paid to secure the release of the victim.
It stated that police investigating into the case swung into action and raided a house during which one of the accused Sinilo Bukh was arrested. It added that interrogation of the arrested accused led to the arrest of the NSCN (U) functionary from his residence at high school area.
It stated that a case of kidnapping for ransom was registered at south police station, Kohima, and the accused have been remanded to custody for further investigation.
