DIMAPUR — In line
with the objective to increase ‘Jan Bhagidari’ in events of national
importance, two special guests from Nagaland and five from Manipur received a
special invitation to attend the 76th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in
New Delhi on January 26.
A defence release stated that the invitees were part of the
10,000 special achievers from the country.
“These architects of ‘Swarnim Bharat’ with diverse
backgrounds include best performers in various fields and those who have made
best use of the schemes of the government,” the statement read.
Chato Kuotsu and Nisato Zinyu from Nagaland, who were
invited for the event, are the national award winners in handicrafts category,
while Padamshree Konsom Ibomcha Singh, Padamshree Moirangthem Muktamani Devi,
Padamshree Machihan Sasa, national award winner Longiam Hemolata Devi and
Shilpguru Gurumayum Shanti Devi would represent the state of Manipur.
Para-Olympic medalist, Hokato Hotozhe Sema, has also been
invited as special guests as he has made the country proud by his performance
in game of shot-put during the Paralympics- 2024.
It added that school children with patriotic fervour, who
have emerged as winners of All India School Band Competition and Veer Gatha
competitions, would also be attending the Republic Day ceremony as special
guests.
“These achievers have been invited to honour their
contribution in making their, community, region, state and the country proud by
their performance in their respective field,’ it added.
In addition to the Republic Day celebrations, the special
guests would be visit the National War Memorial, Pradhanmantri Sanghralay and
other prominent places at the national capital. They would also get an
opportunity to interact with the union ministers.
