Two arrested for murder in Diphu

Diphu, May 18 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Police arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Debajit Sinha of Diphu along the Diphu-Dhansiri road in Karbi Anglong on May 15.

Additional superintendent of police, Prakash Sonawal, in a statement said, 'in connection with the murder case of Debajit Sinha along the Diphu-Dhansiri road in Karbi Anglong on May 15, we have arrested two persons--Francis Engti from Manja and Waisong Terang from Diphu after search operations by five groups based on our technical input. We launched our operations from yesterday and recovered a 22 pistol along with 5 live ammunition from their possession. The victim's stolen motorcycle was also recovered from Dimapur'.

One of the accused, Francis Engti from Manja was earlier affiliated with Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) and both the accused confessed to the murder before the police, added the additional SP.
