Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): Dimapur police arrested two persons from different locations on charges of extortion and possessing illegal liquor on March 12 and 13 respectively.
According to a police report issued by an additional deputy commissioner of police and PRO, one person identified as Hoto Ayemi and resident of Padumpukhuri was arrested from Kher Mahal area near Trendz showroom while extorting money from business community on March 12.
Police personnel recovered 23 nos. of tax slips belonging to UNPG NNC (Parent body) from the ministry of Chaplee Affairs, two nos. of duplicate money receipt, one mobile handset and cash of INR 500 from his possession.
It stated that a case in this connection has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.
In another incident, Dimapur police arrested one person identified as Poklen Singh in possession of illegal liquor from Patkai Bridge area in Chümoukedima on March 13. The contraband liquor was recovered from a truck bearing registration No. NL01L 9951.
Police recovered 146 cases of Zeno Rum, 19 cases of Tuborg can beer, 23 cases of Kingfisher can beer and 21 cases of Mc Dowell whiskey from his possession.
It further stated a case in this connection has been registered at Chumoukedima police station.
