Two arrested for attack on RSS office in Manipur

  • IMPHAL — Manipur Police have arrested two persons who were involved in a mob attack of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in the outskirts of Imphal in November last year.

  • The RSS office is located in Haraorou village under Sagolmang police station in Manipur’s Imphal East district.

  • “On 12.05.2025, security forces arrested 02 (two) persons who were involved in mob attack of RSS office, Haraorou under Sogolmang-PS, Imphal East district in November 2024 from Yumnam Khunao Awang Leikai under Sogolmang-PS, Imphal East district. They are identified as Haobijam Khumarjit (45) of Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikai, Imphal East District and Haobijam Mangangcha Singh @ Naobi (41) of Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikai, Imphal East District,” the Police control room of Manipur Police said in a press note on late Monday night.

  • The police note also informed that the security forces arrested two active members of armed group KCP (PWG) from a rented house in the outskirts of Imphal on Monday.

  • The arrested persons have identified as Asheibam Gopen Singh (43) of Andro Makha Leikai, Imphal East district, and Laishram Sanamacha Leima (45) of Sinam Maning Leikai, Imphal East district, presently staying at the said rented house located at Mantripukhri Mercylane, Imphal East district, the note said.

  • In the meantime, the security forces also apprehended three individuals along with suspected No 4 heroin worth approximately INR 11.05 crore from Churachandpur district.

  • The arrested persons have been identified as Minlun Vaiphei (34) of Gouchinkhup Veng, David Nehtinthang (32) of Sehjang village and Lunkholal (53) of Apollo Veng, all from Churachandpur district.

  • The arrested was made on May 10 near New Lamka under Churachandpur Police Station, the press note added.

  • “The above-noted persons were coming in a four-wheeler when they were detained by the security forces,” the police note said.

  • The seizure included 97 soap cases of suspected No. 4 heroin weighing approximately 1.164 kg worth INR 11.05 crore, one four-wheeler, three mobile phones.
