Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): The mass-scale firing in the Naga People’s Front—in the aftermath of this year’s Lok Sabha elections in the state—has struck yet another set of dissidents even as the NPF on Thursday suspended 18 more members from primary and active membership with immediate effect.
This time, all the suspended functionaries are (former) members of the NPF’s Mon division.
In an order issued on Thursday, the opposition NPF alleged the suspended members of supporting the NDPP candidate in the last parliamentary election 2019 “which is totally against the collective decision of the party.”
The latest list of axed NPF functionaries include the Mon division’s four vice presidents, two secretaries, youth wing president, youth wing vice president, youth wing press secretary, president of women wing, two vice presidents of women wing, secretary of women wing, president of farmers’ wing, vice president of farmers’ wing, general secretary of farmer’s wing, secretary of farmer’s wing, and advisor of women wing.
They have been accused of harbouring intentions to carry out anti-party activities instead of strengthening the party.
The suspended members, in the order, were also alleged of threatening to “lock the Mon division NPF office during the joint meeting with the central office bearers in-charge of Mon along with the legislature wing in-charge of Mon division on May 2, which is completely a total breach of party discipline.”
