Tumei Konyak was crowned Miss Eastern Nagaland 2018 at a glittering ceremony held at Local Ground in Tuensang on Nov. 30.
An update issued on Dec. 2 mentioned that 16 contestants from six tribes of Eastern Nagaland took part in the pageant. The tribes include Chang, Khiamnuingan, Konyak, Phom, Sangtam and Yimchunger.
Lushian Lam was announced the first runners-Up and Antimang Chang as the second runners-up.
The 2018 edition of the pageant is said to have been an initiative of the Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) with theme “ Every woman a Queen” with an aim to imbibe confidence in women to step forward and seize their moment to realise their true potential, the update informed.
Indian model, VJ and fashion choreographer, Alesia Raut was said to have been the official ramp walk trainer and also the curator of the event while actor, Siddhaanth Surryavanshi was the host of the show.
Judges for the contest were Senior Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tuensang, Dr. Keviletsu Khate; SDO(C) Tuensang, Ajit Kumar Verma; SP Tuensang, Bharat Laxman Markat; Assistant Professor Sao Chang College, Temjentula and Staff Officer HQ 7 Sector Assam Rifles, Major Madhvi Sharma.
