Tuensang women trained in basket-making

Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): Tuensang district administration and the district-level centre for women, Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) jointly organised a two-day basket-making training for women on September 28 and the 29th at town hall, Tuensang.

The training was organised for interested women under Tuensang district with an objective to empower them and to enhance their skill, an update from women welfare officer Songmao M stated.

Songmao greeted the participants and highlighted about Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and also encouraged the trainees to diligently participate in learning the skill through which they could sustain their livelihood. She also encouraged them to inspire and motivate every young generation to become a successful entrepreneur.

‘The youth today should be the role model for next generation,’ she added.
Altogether, 37 participants took part in the skill development programme. The training concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by S Niamkoi, MSK district coordinator.
