Dimapur, August 11 : The central government’s transport minister has assured a visiting delegation from Tuensang to ‘consider’ their demand to redress the condition of the Mokokchung-Tuensang NH-155/202. The Action Plan Committee (APC) of Tuesang district met with Nitin Gadkari on August 9 at the Transport Bhavan in New Delhi. The group issued a press release informing of the event. “The people of Tuensang district right from the attainment of statehood till today, is facing untold miseries in our day to day life due to the apathy condition of road that lies completely neglected,” the press release from the committee stated. “Despite of several appeals been made to the state government, no positive measures had been taken so far along NH-155/202 that stretch from Mokokchung to Tuensang. Owing to all these reasons, the 5 (five) members delegates had submitted a memorandum to the above mentioned (honorable) Union Minister.” To this, the note said, the union minister “gave his word to the APC that he would consider the matter very seriously and would take necessary step as early as possible.” The committee has expressed gratitude to Nitin Gadkari “for his precious time in sympathy of Tuensang district despite of the busy schedule in the ongoing Parliament Session.” The delegation also informed to have met with Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Neiphiu Rio the same day. “The APC give thanks to him for extending his support on the given matter,” besides to the village councils of Tuensang district “for contributing financial aid due to which the mission of submitting our memorandum was successful.”
