Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): Basing on inputs, a team under the command of OC PS Longkhim was despatched for intercepting a suspected vehicle near New Sangsomong area on the Highway on May 21.
According to SP Tuensang , around 6 p.m., the suspected vehicle - Mahindra Scorpio B/Regd No. ASOlMA-4975 was intercepted and upon searching, approximately 43000 capsules of banned Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) belonging to one Limanungla, also known as Atoi Zeliang and Akhala, wife of late Bochukai of Tamenglong, Manipur was recovered.
The contraband items were neatly packed and hidden under the seats, inside the speakers and spare tyre.The driver identified as Bendangtoshi Sangtam of Alisopur village along with Atula, daughter of the owner of the consignment were also arrested and the vehicle also seized.
The consignment was supposed to be delivered to some un-identified female person at Petrol Pump Tuensang the same day, stated SP.
In this connection, a case has been registered for further investigation.
