Tuensang orders constitution of villages

EMN Dimapur, January 12 Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Alem Jongshi, directed all recognized villages under Tuensang district to select/ elect new village council members (VCMs) for reconstitution of the village councils within 15 days from the date of issue of this notification in accordance with the prevailing customary practices and usages.The notification was issued in pursuance to the Commissioner’s order and in exercise of power conferred by Rule 3 of the Nagaland Village Council and Tribal Council Rules 1979. In view of the selection/ election of VCMs in all recognized villages under Tuensang district, the ADCs, SDOs (C) and EACs are directed to monitor the selection/ election process in their respective administrative jurisdiction and submit the VCMs lists on or before January 30 for onward submission to the government.
