Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): A disaster management training was held under the aegis of the Home Guards and Civil Defence, Tuensang for the inmates of Tuensang district Jail on March 8, informed an update from Tialemba, DPRO Tuensang.
District Commandant Home Guards and Civil Defence Tuensang, Ngongvai. E. Phom, who graced the programme, said that it was the first time that such an awareness programme was held in the district jail. He said that when disasters -- natural and man-made – strikes, “we also need emergency preparedness exercise to save lives.”
The Civil Defence personnel demonstrated emergency method of rescue, triangle and rolled bandages during the mock drill.
All the jail inmates and staff attended the training programme. Superintendent of Police Jail, K. Hamtok Phom delivered welcome address earlier during the programme.
