- DIMAPUR — The
National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Wokha district, and
Community Health Centre (CHC), Bhandari, conducted Jan-Jan Ka Rakhe Dhyaan
TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NI-Kshay Shivir) on Friday.
- Speaking at the programme, Renben Tsanglao, senior treatment
supervisor (STS), Wokha, said that the health screening camp for community
based assessment among the vulnerable population was held as part of the 100
days intensified campaign, which was launched by the Government of India, to
accelerate TB case detection, reduce mortality and prevent new cases through
focused intervention in order to achieve total elimination of tuberculosis
disease.
- Speaking on the importance of early screening, detection,
signs and symptoms of TB, he emphasised on the importance of coming forward
without fear or reluctance. He also highlighted the assistance and measures
implemented by the government towards total elimination of the disease.
- A DIPR report stated that free health screening for non
communicable diseases, (NCD), X-ray, blood and sputum test etc. were also
conducted during the programme.
