Kohima, Oct. 22 (EMN): The Tsütuonuomia Khel of Kohima village will observe its annual ‘Khel Day’ on October 25 at Mission Compound at 1 pm. According to a press release, Oct. 25 is a significant day in the history of the T-khel as it commemorates the battle of 1879 and the subsequent Peace Treaty made between T-khel and the British. “Thus, the T-khel Day is organized to commemorate the bravery and resilience, brotherhood and peace, handed down by the pioneers of the khel,” stated the update received from Khotuo Kevin Solo, member publicity committee, T-khel Day. He informed that the day will be marked with high spirits of cultural extravaganza, music and celebration. The T-Khel extended invitation to all its members to be part of the celebration, and ‘a special invitation’ to the “sisters married to the other communities”, brothers-in-laws and all well-wishers. Chairman, Kohima Village Council Dr. Neiphi Kire will grace the occasion as the special guest while Viliethie Solo, Ex-Chairman, T. Khel Council, will be the Honour Guest for the T. Khel Nite, scheduled to be held in the evening at 5 pm.
