Kohima, Dec. 29 (EMN): Tsüpfüme Nyi- a festival which is observed once in every 5 years- was celebrated at the Tsüpfüme Community Hall on December 27 and 28 with Deo Nukhu, MLA as chief guest.
During each festival all the in-laws from outside the village were invited to be part of the occasion with the view to let them also learn and experience the unique culture of the village.
The festival is alternatively hosted by village dwellers and those living in towns and cities. This year, it was hosted by Tsüpfüme Nupfü Rhüme (Tsüpfüme village dwellers). Another objective of the festival is also to connect children to their roots through several demonstrations of culture in the form of indigenous songs, dances, games, etc.
