Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN): Informing that it has come to the knowledge that highway certain extortionists are harassing and creating inconveniences to the travellers and the public along the Peducha and Tsiesema jurisdiction (NH-2 Bye Pass Road), the Tsiesema Village Youth Organisation (TVYO) on Tue. condemned such anti-social acts and warned that it will not tolerate such activities.
The TVYO, in a press release, informed of certain resolution adopted by the village council and youth organisation, with regard to such anti-social activities under the Tsiesema village jurisdiction.
The release also informed of an extortion case that happened September 13 “where some miscreant extorted money from a truck driver while in broad day light”.
Strongly condemning the incident which happened under its jurisdiction, the TVYO asked the concern authority to punish the culprit as per the law and at the same time warned that the youth will not tolerate such act in the near future. Besides, the release also informed that it has been resolved to totally restrict “hunting, fishing, jungle burning, collections of firewood and exploiting of forest flora and fauna”; or disposing of garbage and waste material etc in the village jurisdiction area. It warned that that defaulters of the restriction/prohibition will invite a fine of INR 500 or more as per the degree of the said act
