Tseipfüsiephe Youth Organisation biennial sports meet begins at Kohima Science College ground in Jotsoma.

KOHIMA — The two-day Tseipfüsiephe Youth Organisation biennial sports meet 2026 is underway at the Kohima Science College ground in Jotsoma.
The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Ward-19 Councillor Medoviu Martin Suohu attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he spoke about how sports in Nagaland are played across all levels, from the village level to the state level.
He mentioned that his target is to organise the 9th inter-ward sports meet in Kohima, adding that he is working and coordinating with the sports secretaries of various wards to make it happen by next year.
He also shared that for the inter-ward sports meet, they plan to tie up with the Youth Resources and Sports department and the Nagaland Olympic Association so that even if the prize money is low, the certificates won can serve as credentials for participants in their future sporting careers.

Reminding the youth that government jobs in Nagaland are over-saturated, he encouraged them to explore other avenues. He informed that to encourage skills training, he will be conducting free electrician training in the coming month and urged the youth to take part in it.
The participating teams in the sports meet include Taxi Union Tseipfüsiephe, Upper Tseipfüsiephe, Middle East Tseipfüsiephe, Middle West Tseipfüsiephe, and Lower Tseipfüsiephe.
The sports being played during the two-day event include football and cricket for men, along with volleyball, basketball, and tug of war for both men and women. The prize money is INR 10,000 for the football champions, INR 7,000 for cricket, and INR 5,000 each for the basketball, volleyball, and tug of war winners in both the men’s and women’s categories.
