TrueNat test finds woman Covid-19 positive in Mokokchung

Sample sent to BSL lab for confirmation

Mokokchung, June 28 (EMN): Mokokchung district detected its first Covid-19 positive case on Sunday through a TrueNat test.

A woman, in her thirties, tested positive for Covid-19 in the TrueNat test while she was under quarantine in one of the centres. Her sample has been sent to a bio-safety laboratory (BSL) for confirmation through a RT-PCR test, a source said on Sunday.

The patient is currently being kept for observation at district Covid-19 hospital, Mokokchung since last late evening (June 27); she is assumed to be asymptomatic, the source added.

The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir said that information about the case would be declared in public domain only after confirmation of the result from a BSL-2 or BSL-3 laboratory.
