Mokokchung, April 29
Two persons were injured when a truck reportedly carrying mud fell into a gorge approximately 100 meter near the Assam Rifle Firing Range at Mongsenbai Ward, Mokokchung, on Friday.
As per police information, the truck bearing Registration No. NL-02 L 2017 fell into the roadside gorge while the driver was negotiating to park and unload the mud.
Out of the four occupants in the vehicle, the driver and a helper sustained injury. According to eye witnesses, two minors who were inside the truck were thrown out on mid-way sustaining minor injuries while the driver and the helper landed into the gorge along with the truck.
The injured persons were given first aid by the Assam Rifles and shifted to Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) for further treatment.
Hospital emergency doctor disclosed that both the victims are stable and are keeping under observation. The driver has been identified as 35 years Gopal presently residing at Mongsenbai and Fourteen years old Pur (Helper), son of Moaba, residing at Sangtemla.
