Incursions and vandalism are troubling the Kohima campus of Nagaland University in Meriema, under Kohima. The district administration has warned of action against the vandals.
The Sub Divisional Officer (C) of Kohima, Kethosituo Sekhose, informed that complaints had been received from Kohima campus of Nagaland University in Meriema that “unwarranted activities” such as damaging boundary fencing, felling of trees, jungle burning, hunting, partying, random gardening etc are taking place inside the campus.
‘The university, being an institution of higher learning, it is essential to maintain a peaceful environment conducive for academic pursuit and its sanctity revered by all. Hence, all concerned have been refrained from indulging in such activities disturbing peace inside the university campus,’ the administration noted.
Anyone found ‘indulging in such activities will be dealt strictly as per relevant sections of law, the administration stated.
