NPF, NMDA, and LMFN express condolences over the passing of Arthur Edwards, founder of Livingstone Foundation International.
DIMAPUR — The Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) Central Minority Wing, Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA), and Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) have expressed grief over the passing of Arthur Edwards, founder of Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur.
The NPF Central Minority Wing, in a condolence message, described Edwards as a visionary educationist and social worker whose unwavering commitment to quality education, character building, and nation-building transformed the lives of countless students across the Northeast.
It stated that his remarkable legacy would continue to inspire generations to come and extended deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, management, faculty, students, alumni, and the entire school community.
The NMDA also mourned the demise of Edwards, calling him a veteran and respected citizen of Dimapur.
In a press release, the association stated that he was the founder of Breeze Bakery and Restaurant, one of the earliest and most loved establishments in the town. Beyond business, he was a dedicated educationist and social activist who devoted his life to the welfare of society and the upliftment of the people of Dimapur.
Edwards was also the guardian of NMDA President Ato Yepthomi. The association stated that a pillar of Dimapur has fallen and expressed solidarity with Yepthomi and his family during this difficult time.
The LMFN, in its condolence message, stated that Edwards was closely associated with linguistic minorities and permanent settlers of Dimapur. Chairman Bishnu Bhattacharjee extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the forum and linguistic minority communities across Nagaland to the bereaved family.
Bhattacharjee noted that Edwards was a highly respected senior citizen whose constructive discussions, wise counsel, and genuine concern for the welfare of all residents, without discrimination, earned him wide admiration. He added that his legacy of inclusiveness, compassion, and commitment to peace and communal harmony would continue to inspire generations.
