Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): While observing that some tribal literature board/ committee are running offices without taking extension or permission from the department of School Education, the latter has asked such board/ committee to follow its guidelines.
The department notification stated that every tribal literature board/ committee should seek permission from the director of school education without which it would be treated as non-functioning. It also stated that the tenure of respective tribal literature board/ committee should be five years unless dissolved before expiry of its tenure.
The notification stated that respective tribal literature board/ committee should constitute its members every five years or may continue with same team/ members nominated and submit the list of members along with extension request letter prior to the expiry of its tenure.
It stated that the tribal literature board/ committee should nominate not less than ten members. The members should be qualified and well versed in their own language or languages. It added that members should be from linguistic, medical, music, agri and allied or forestry, and theological background. Besides, it stated that language officer and assistant language officer from the directorate of school education would be ex-officio member.
It also stated that tribal literature board/ committee should enclose the constituted members showing their respective bio data in a separate list at the time of seeking permission or at the time of extension of its tenure.
Further, any tribal literature board/ committee functioning without permission should seek formal permission/ extension within a month of their establishment, adding failing to comply with the directives would be treated as dissolved or non-functioning.
