Tribal bodies inspect NECTAR Project in Longleng
Tribal apex body leaders and construction workers at the ongoing NECTAR Project site at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng, during a joint inspection.


DIMAPUR — A joint inspection was conducted by the tribal apex bodies, led by YB Angam, president of the Phom People’s Council (PPC), and C Sham-e Phom, president of the Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), at the construction site of the ongoing NECTAR Project at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng.


The purpose of the visit was to assess the quality, pace, and progress of the project and to ensure its implementation was on track, according to an update.


During the site visit, Angam interacted with the site engineers and workers to understand the current status and challenges faced on the ground. After a detailed walkthrough and assessment, the joint team expressed satisfaction with the quality of construction and commended the encouraging pace of work, especially given the challenging weather conditions.


Both PPC and PSC lauded the professionalism of the construction team, stating that the visible progress reflects efficiency, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility toward timely completion. They noted that the structural work is in accordance with approved plans and appears to meet necessary technical standards and safety measures.

The team also encouraged the workers to maintain consistency and uphold quality standards throughout the remaining phases of the project. They called upon all stakeholders—including the implementing agency, education department, and local community—to work in coordination and ensure accountability until completion.


The NECTAR Project is expected to significantly enhance the educational infrastructure of Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng, one of the key academic institutions in the district.


The PPC and PSC reaffirmed their collective commitment to promoting educational advancement and community development through continued engagement in such transformative initiatives.
