Dimapur, Jan. 18 (EMN): Department of Treasuries & Accounts bade farewell to its outgoing principal director, K Tiayanger Tzudir, on January 18 in the conference hall of directorate of Treasuries & Accounts.
In his farewell speech, the outgoing principal director, K Tiayanger Tzudir thanked the dignitaries, officers and staff of the department, family members and well wishers for organising a farewell programme in his honour.
A DIPR report has quoted Tzudir as saying “Life is a destiny,” while reminiscing his school days when he aspired to be an engineer but landed up in the department of treasuries and accounts as STO in December 1983.
Tzudir said he is ‘retiring with full of satisfaction and great happiness' and has no regret in his service career from day one till his retirement for which he thanked the Almighty God.
He said the department has expanded greatly in terms of both activities and responsibilities over a period of time. He urged the officers and staff of the department to put concerted efforts in their duties with sincerity and dedication. Mentioning that there were only 38 officers in the department when he first joined, Tzudir said it has now expanded to more than 200 officers adding 100 more are on the pipeline.
He also stated that all the achievements and laurels during his tenure was not a lone effort but a collective venture supported by officers and staff of the department. He asked them to extend the same cooperation and sincerity to the incoming principal director stating that only with unity among members there could be smooth sailing. He further conveyed best wishes to all the officers and staff of the department.
Commissioner and secretary of finance, Kikheto Sema, while delivering a short speech, termed the service of the outgoing officer as 'positive' and whose association with him was always been interesting and amazing. Sema has termed him as an officer whose remarkable achievements and contributions for the welfare and well being of the department have created an asset rather than liability.
Principal director, RN Lotha, who spoke on behalf of the department, pointed out some remarkable achievements and contributions of the outgoing officer to the department. He said the outgoing officer strongly advocated and took active role in the uplift of the department particularly in creation of new posts, cadre review, service rules and computerisation of treasury offices.
On the occasion, Lotha also attributed the wife of outgoing officer for all the achievement made during his tenure in office.
Director of Treasuries & Accounts, Vahine Thisa, who chaired the programme mentioned, remarked that the outgoing principal director retired on December 31, 2018, on attaining 35 years of service. She also expressed gratitude to all the district officers and staff of the directorate for making themselves available for the programme.
Highlighting some notable achievements and contributions towards the department, she said many posts were created during his time and many more are in the pipeline. She added that service rules and cadre review are almost in the final stage. She reminded him that the department would continue to seek his service and guidance even though he has retired from service.
“His contributions and legacy left behind will be an example for his successors in the department to emulate,” she stated.
Additional director of T&A, RN Lama, while giving a brief profile of the retiring officer, mentioned that the officer was recruited as junior accounts officer through NPSC in the year 1983 and reached the pinnacle of his career on January 1, 2016, as principal director and retired on December 31, 2018. During his service, the officer was posted to different districts and departments in different capacities, he stated.
He also mentioned that the outgoing officer obtained both BA and B. Com degrees by virtue of his sheer determination. He was awarded Governor's Gold medal for his exemplary service on August 15, 2011, he added.
OSD finance, Taliremba, who also spoke on the occasion, said the outgoing officer rendered his best service for the department in addition to keeping the concerns of his officers and staff at priority. He described him as an officer with substance, who was deeply concern and vocal about the welfare of his department thereby leaving behind a footprint for others to emulate.
Director and IGP of Vigilance Commission, I Meyionen Jamir, said the outgoing officer had an illustrious career. He described him as positive and forward looking man, who is always prompt and clear in his concept. He mentioned that the outgoing officer has contributed his best service for the future of the department.
He further urged the department to utilise his service even after his retirement as he had enormous knowledge and experiences about the department.
CT Jamir, a friend of the outgoing officer, said that the outgoing officer has been blessed with so many qualities. He said at times things get done quickly and smoothly because of his charming and appealing personality. He has congratulated the outgoing officer on attaining 35 years of service and wished him a happy retirement life.
Others who spoke on the occasion included senior accounts officer NF&ASA Temsu Longkumer; senior treasuries officer Kekhaho Aye, on behalf of district treasuries; senior accounts officer Amenla, on behalf of Accounts officers.
Vetholü Rhakho presented special number, while the director of treasuries and accounts, Adi Naleo, said the vote of thanks.
