DIMAPUR — The Treasures of Nagaland exhibition-cum-sale, organised by YouthNet and sponsored by NABARD, was inaugurated at the Made in Nagaland Centre, Kohima, by general manager/OIC of NABARD, Pauliankap Bulte, on Monday.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Bulte said that Nagaland is ahead of other peer states in the North East in the field of food processing based on cottage industry, with a variety of locally made food items available in the market. He also encouraged the promotion of Naga cuisine, according to a DIPR report.
He suggested that entrepreneurs consider a cluster model for food processing, where NABARD can assist them.
Lauding the participants and entrepreneurs of the Treasures of Nagaland exhibition-cum-sale, he suggested that they listen to their customers and interact with them to gather feedback on their products, quality, and packaging. He emphasised that only attentive listeners can improve their products, identify potential markets, and increase revenue.
Nodal officer and head of business development and corporate communication at YouthNet, Razouvikhol Luho, in his welcome address, highlighted that YouthNet has collaborated with NABARD since 2019 and has been training entrepreneurs in the skill development and hospitality sectors.
He said that, with the help of NABARD, many of the participants who have undergone the training are now successfully settled. He also expressed hope that the 10-day exhibition-cum-sale would have a great impact on the participating entrepreneurs.
Supervisor-YIC of YouthNet, Vetolu Dawhuo, who chaired the programme, mentioned that the Treasures of Nagaland exhibition-cum-sale was organised as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Hornbill Festival with the aim of promoting local artisans and entrepreneurs on a wider platform.
The programme was attended by entrepreneurs from different districts of the state.
