A 12-hour lightning bandh has been called by All Advashi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) starting from 6 a.m. on April 18. The bandh has been imposed in protest against the killing of 11 persons at Pengeri in Tinsukia, Assam which is expected to affect intensely in upper Assam districts of Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Tinsukia. In an official notification, Mangkolemba Sub-Divisional administration has issued travel advisory to commuters travelling from Mon, Longleng, Tuensang Mokokchung and Dimapur travelling to these districts to avoid using these routes during the bandh period.
