Last year’s runner up Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) has entered the final of the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh, KCSI, CBE Memorial Football tournament after defeating its rival team Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) in a tie break (3-1) at Khuman Lampak main stadium today. A Herojit, N Sushil and Wongramchan PS scored for TRAU while K Benjamin of MPSC scored their solitary score in the penalty shoot-out. M Meino of TRAU and L Ibothoi, K Priyokumar besides M Somorendro of MPSC missed the net in the Shoot-out.
Imphal based TRAU will be meeting Bishnupur district based TRUGPU in the final of the coveted CC Meet tournament at Khuman Lampak main Stadium here on January 14.
Earlier both the teams were locked at 2-2 in the full time. Initially, TRAU lead the match in the first half as Kh Naoton (15 min) and N Sushil scored one goal each in 15 and 44 the minutes. However it was equalized by MPSC’s Th Kiran Singh and Hangsing in 66 min and 80 minute of the match. TRAU’s Kh Naoton has been adjudged as the man of the match.
On Sunday, TRUGPU Nambol defeated ARC (Assam Regimental Centre) Shillong by 2-1 in the first semi final match of the tourney.
